Elden Ring: The Best Penitent Builds

Post by Sylvia »

The Penitent Course is one of the starting options for Elden Ring. As with past FromSoftware games, the class will give players an advantage in the early stages of the game, but become less important later in the game. This guide will show you how to create the best builds for the Penitent class in Elden Ring, and the different playstyles these classes fit into. Players can also prepare enough Cheap Elden Ring Runes.

Elden Ring Confessor Builds
The Penitent class is a balanced class, an Elden Ring with a good distribution of properties. This class is more concerned with beliefs that allow you to use different weapons. Even the starting gear for this class is good and doesn't need any upgrades until halfway through the game.

Penitent Scythe Build
Flask Spread: 1 or 2 FP, mostly HP
Weapons: Holy Scythe, Wing Scythe, Mark of the Godslayer, Brass Shield
Armor: Any light armor you can use
Stats: Faith, Vitality (primary) and Thought, Dexterity/Strength (secondary)
Skills: Ashes of War: Quick Step & Ashes of War: Golden Oath
Spells: Fallen Fire, Lightning Spear, Frozen Lightning Spear, Emergency Heal, and Black Fire

Penitent Class Melee Build
Flask Spread: 1 or 2 FP, mostly HP
Weapons: Broadsword, Bronze Shield, and any Seal
Armor: Any mid-range.
Stats: Strength, Faith (primary) and Agility and Stamina (secondary)
Skills: Ashes of War: Quick Step & Ashes of War: Golden Oath
Spells: Emergency Healing, Healing

Best Stats for the Penitent Class
For Confessor-like Scythe builds, you should assign most levels to Faith. Scythe weapons are mainly proportional to Faith, so the higher your Faith value, the more damage you will do to the build.

Vitality: 13
Stamina: 14
Strength: 23
Agility: 16
Faith: 24

For the Confessor Class melee build stats, the focus is on strength, as it's the thing you'll use the most in this build. Also put points on Faith, but prioritise strength so you can pick up better weapons.

A secondary focus on leveling stamina, as it increases gear load and stamina. Other than that, Brass Shield and Ashes of War would make it a very good build.

Stamina: 13
Strength: 12
Agility: 13
Faith: 14
