Gun powder is a medium rare resource. Gun powder is needed to craft ammunition like Rifle bullets and explosives like Dynamite as well as explosive trap ammuntion like the Trebuchet bombs.  You can mine black rocks for Gun powder by using your Pickaxe.

Copper ore is a rare resource. You need copper ore to craft Copper ingot at the Material production table. You need this resource for advanced building of traps and electronic devices. You also need Copper ore to craft Copper wire. You can find Copper ore by mining black rocks or square rocks. Have a look at the lakes, there are massive amounts of Copper ore.

Iron ore is a medium rare resource. You can find iron within the black or anthracit colored rocks by mining. There are some colorful rocks within the area around the lakes which might contain Iron ore as well. From Iron ore you can producte Iron ingot an item that is used to build many of the more advanced items and structures. You can melt Iron ore at the Material production table.

Leaves are a very common ressource in Night of the Dead. Leaves are used for crafting several items like the sleeping bag for example. They also can be used to produce research material at the Crafting table. You need to upgrade it to level 2 at least to do so. Leaves can be obtained by harvesting bushes or chopping trees.

Logs are a very common ressource in Night of the Dead. You need Logs to build structures and traps. They can be trimmed to Lumber or Trimmed logs. You receive Logs by felling trees. Best way to chop trees is by using the Felling axe. However other tools and weapons do work as well.

Vines are a very common ressource in Night of the Dead. Vines are used to craft simple tools and weapons. You also can refine Vines to Tree branches at the Material production table. Vines are obtained by cutting down bushes or chopping down trees.

Tree branches are a very common ressource in Night of the Dead. They are used in a lot of different ways. Tree branches are needed to build most of the tools, weapons, traps and even some materials. You also need these a lot to reload traps or to craft ammunition for the Bow, Crossbow or Ranged traps. Tree branches can be obtained by felling trees or chopping down bushes. They also can be made from Vine at the Material production table.
